I’m worried The First Descendant will meet a similar fate to Anthem

I feel that I perhaps erred on the side of critical here, but I really do hope Nexon continues iterating as it has from past betas and the game manages to find its niche. The problem isn’t so much about getting players interested, but keeping them playing. F2P is great for initial onboarding, but is there enough ‘sauce’ to keep players from bouncing off it? The live-service environment is so incredibly competitive now, so if it doesn’t manage to carve out a spot then I worry it won’t get past the first year. Sure, players are nomadic and will rotate between games X, Y, Z regularly as new content drops, but will TFD be good enough to feature in those rotations?

I definitely agree it’s more Warframe-adjacent! I note in the PV that it’s the closest point of reference – the Anthem comparison was more to do with TFD feeling empty and its potential (*touches wood*) fate. I really wish I got to try more of the endgame content out, as that’s going to be where it can really separate itself from Warframe.
