Official Mario Kart Switch Racing Wheel Drops To New Low Price At Amazon

October 6, 2024

If you own of the 63 million (and counting) copies of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe–it’s the best-selling Switch game of all time by a wide margin–and want to enhance your racing experience, the officially licensed Mario Kart racing wheels by Hori are on sale at Amazon ahead of Prime Big Deal Days. The Mario Kart Pro Mini Racing Wheel is available for $56.68 (was $70), which is the lowest price we’ve seen at Amazon. The larger Pro Deluxe Racing Wheel is $89 (was $110).

If you need a copy of the game itself, you can buy Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for $50 at Amazon. It’s also bundled with Nintendo’s 2024 Switch holiday bundles, which just released this month. Amazon isn’t carrying the bundles at this time, but you can purchase the Nintendo Switch OLED with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and three months of Switch Online for $349 at Walmart. The same bundle is available for the standard Switch console for $299.

But back to the racing wheels: The Pro Mini has a red and blue color scheme matching Mario’s iconic outfit. The wheel has an ergonomic form factor based on real steering wheels. Face buttons, a D-pad, and triggers (as buttons) are located on the front of the wheel. The Pro Mini also comes with pedals to accelerate and brake. This compact Nintendo Switch racing wheel is great for younger members of the family or anyone looking for a racing wheel that won’t break the bank.

Hori Mario Kart Racing Wheel Pro Mini and Deluxe

Alternatively, there’s the Mario Kart Racing Wheel Pro Deluxe. This one has a darker red and black design and is noticeably larger than the Mini. Unsurprisingly, the Deluxe version has a more premium feel and sturdier build. Though it retains the same general features, ZL and ZR triggers are located where your hands naturally rest. The Deluxe comes with larger pedals and detachable paddles, which is a great addition for those who play other racing games where manually shifting gears is important.

If you’re buying a wheel purely for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the Pro Mini is probably the better choice due to the large price difference at the moment. The Pro Deluxe has been discounted to around $70 in the past, but the Pro Mini routinely sells for close to full price.
