When is the next Prime Day?

October 8, 2024

We’re in the thick of Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days event — unofficially known as October Prime Day. You may be wondering if you should pull the trigger on deals you’ve been eyeing or wait for the next Prime event. We’re here to lay out all the details to help you decide, including when to expect the next Prime Day.

When is the next Prime Day?

While it may seem like Amazon is holding Prime events every other month, Prime Day technically only happens once a year in the summer. However, Amazon has also been holding another major sale event the past three years in the fall (called Prime Big Deal days in 2024). For all intents and purposes, it’s essentially Prime Day 2. Running Oct. 8 and Oct. 9 this year, there’s still an entire day to shop Prime Day deals.

Once the Prime Big Deal Days event concludes at 3:01 a.m. ET (12:01 a.m. PT) on Oct. 9, you’ll have to wait until next summer for another Prime-centric shopping event. The next Prime Day likely won’t take place until July 2025 (unless, of course, Amazon decides to throw us all a curveball).

In 2022, 2023, and 2024, Prime Day was held in the second full week of July in the Tuesday-Wednesday slot. If we assume Amazon will stick with a similar schedule as the past few years, the next Prime Day will probably fall on July 15 and 16 in 2025.

In the meantime, however, Amazon’s Black Friday event is also a beast of its own kind. We often see record-low prices that either match or beat Prime Day prices and stick around for much of November. Mark your calendars now for Black Friday 2024, which falls on Nov. 29, and Cyber Monday, which will take place on Dec. 2.
