Forgotten Sequels in Beloved Video Game Franchises

Yeah, because all of the assets are still there. You just need the art and programming teams. The audios already done. The story (a hard part) is already done so, there’s nothing you need from Kojima, it’s all already there and Konami owns all of the rights. The hard stuff is all done. Animation, mocap, all that can be done in house and synced with the audio and story that’s already done. When you’ve got plenty of Metal Gear fans willing to go work for Konami, just to work on Castlevania, Metal Gear, and The Other Resident Evil (Silent Hill), you’re okay. Pay them fairly and they’ll make it work. Kojima was getting pretty full of himself with his name plastered on everything, his name appearing a billion times in Metal Gear Solid V, Konami knew they had to tame that, they had to humble his ego. So, they took a hit for a little while, but look at them now. On their way back to the top as a reputable game publishing company and everyone’s doing fine. Kojima gets to make Death Stranding 2, another walking simulator, and run his own business and Konami gets to put more people to work making popular Konami games to feed fans to keep them happy. Nothing new or original from Metal Gear, but Konami doesn’t need that, they can publish new IP from other aspiring game devs the way they helped build Kojima but their back catalog of Contra, Castlevania, Rocket Knight, Silent Hill, TMNT, etc, is all still there waiting
