Razer’s concept gaming chair will heat your butt up before cooling it down

Razer is always a source for good, weird fun during CES week. The gaming peripheral giant kicked off CES 2025 with a handful of Monday morning announcements, including a new take on its mesh chair. Built around the company’s well-received Razer Fujin Pro, Project Arielle adds heating and cooling to the mix.

As the chair’s current name suggests, Project Arielle has yet to move past the concept phase. What that means for you, the anxious consumer, is that Razer is effectively using CES as a platform to gauge potential interest. Sure, we all want our butts to be alternately hot and cold, but how much are any of us willing to pay for the privilege?

Given that the Fujin Pro currently runs a tick over $1,000, it’s safe to say Project Arielle won’t be cheap, should it ever come to fruition.

The system features a PTC — or self-regulating — heater, capable of reaching up to 86 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s coupled with a “bladeless fan system,” which circulates cool air through the mesh backing on particularly sweaty gaming marathons. Those features are, in turn, controlled by a touch panel built into the chair.

No word on when — or if — Project Arielle will hit the market. We’ll have to wait around with our room temperature butts to find out.
