Lenovo just announced three new Android tablets and two new gaming handhelds

Today is the start of CES, and Lenovo has just announced a fleet of new hardware, including three new Android tablets and two new gaming handhelds. Rumors were recently circulating that one of these handhelds would run SteamOS, Valve’s custom Linux operating system, and it would appear these rumors were correct; the Legion Go S will offer a Windows and a SteamOS version. There’s also a followup to the original Legion Go, named the Legion Go 2, which packs more RAM and a bigger battery. Out of the three Android tablets, the Yoga Tab Plus is the more interesting, promising onboard AI, while the Idea Tab Pro and Lenovo Tab are the mid-range and low-end options of the Android tablet lineup.

Lenovo has a hefty lineup for 2025

More tablets than you can shake a stick at

Yoga Tab Plus

There are three new Android tablets coming from Lenovo this year. The Yoga Tab Plus, the Idea Tab Pro, and the Lenovo Tab. The Yoga Tab Plus is the most interesting, and will also be the first to arrive on, slated for a launch this month at $700. This gets you a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip paired with a 10,200mAh battery. The 12.7-inch OLED screen supports a 144Hz refresh rate, which should ensure it’s competent at gaming as well as everyday tasks.

Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus

The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus will launch in January 2025 for $700, offering a high refresh rate OLED screen at 12.7 inches, paired with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a 10,200mAh battery, to ensure optimal performance and a battery that lasts.

If the Yoga Tab Plus is the high-end, then the Idea Tab Pro is basically the mid-range option, offering a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor, and users will have the option to bundle in a 2-in-1 keyboard and Lenovo Tab Pen Plus. The Idea Tab Pro starts at $350 and will be available sometime in April, and the optional bundle will be pricier. The tablet offers a 12.7-inch screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, all backed up by a 10,200mAh battery.

Last is the Lenovo Tab, offering a 10.1-inch screen, retailing for $160, with availability slotted for June. This is the low-end option, for those looking to stream or consume media.

Two new gaming handhelds expand the Legion lineup

Legion Go S

The big news is that the Legion Go S will indeed offer a SteamOS model, proving the recent rumors true, but it won’t arrive for four more months, with the Windows version launching this month. It will offer an 8-inch screen with VRR support, and the screen’s resolution is 1080p, which is lower than the original Legion Go’s 2560p resolution, which should allow the custom Ryzen Z2 Go chip more headroom for game performance.

The Lenovo Legion Go S features an exclusive chip and 1080p screen, and offers a Windows and SteamOS version, allowing users to choose their preferred OS.

The Windows version dropping in January will retail for $729.99, equipped with 1TB of storage and 32GB RAM. Once May rolls around, that’s when the real fun begins, with the SteamOS version dropping for $500, with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. Another Windows version will also be available for $600, packing 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.

Legion Go 2

The second gaming handheld announced today is the Legion Go 2, but it’s only a prototype. So far, it’s expected to feature a chip up to the new AMD RyzenTM Z2, with 32GB of RAM, an 8.8-inch OLED display that’s 16:10, with a 144Hz refresh rate and VRR support. But since it’s a prototype, little of this is set in stone. At the very least we have some images of what to expect.

Lenovo had a busy day

Three new Android tablets and two new handheld gaming consoles are only a slice of what Lenovo announced today at CES, but these are certainly the products we like to keep an eye on around here at Android Police. The tablets offer a range so you can easily choose one that fits your needs, and the gaming handhelds are certainly promising when SteamOS is around the corner. Whether you’re a fan of tablets or handhelds, exciting gear is just around the corner.
