Lexus LC Convertible Regatta Edition and Blazing Carnelian Paint

“Blazing Carnelian” sounds like a minor character from Disney’s Star Wars offshoot, The Mandalorian, but in actuality it’s a new(ish) paint color for the Lexus LC Coupe in Europe named after a type of gemstone. And there’s more: a Regatta Edition for the new LC Convertible, a limited edition model in the company’s stunning Structural Blue paint color, with other goodies, also for our friends across the pond.

Blazing Carnelian is a deep reddish orange, a bit like the earthy copper paint tones that were popular 20 years ago but much more elegant. Depending on the light, it’ll shift from a golden metallic glitter to an autumny orange. This color actually debuted on the Lexus UX a few years back, but is migrating to the LC Coupe now—and, we should mention, is sold in the U.S. as Cadmium Orange. It works well, the company says, with their new Manhattan Orange interior tone for the headliner, door panels, and seat accents. This kind of color needs to be seen in person to fully appreciate, much like the company’s famous Structural Blue paint tone that debuted on the LC shown at Geneva in 2016.

Speaking of blue, that special paint is now available on the LC Convertible’s Regatta Edition in Europe, a limited-edition model that features a white leather interior with blue accents. The top is blue as well, called Marine Blue by Lexus. It’s the European name for the LC 500 Inspiration Series convertible sold here—as you can tell by the sill plates. The company says production is “strictly limited” and launch this fall.
