Become Dr. Doom With This Life-Sized Marvel Legends Helmet Replica

One of the most iconic Marvel villains, Dr. Doom, is making his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe next year with the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film. MCU-alum Robert Downey Jr.–who previously played Tony Stark, aka Iron Man–is returning to don the villain’s metallic mask, and soon fans will be able to do the same with the new Marvel Legends Series Doctor Doom Premium Helmet. The wearable collectible is available to preorder for $100 at Amazon and Best Buy.

Amazon lists the release date as August 1, but Best Buy’s listing says June 1. It’s possible Best Buy has a timed exclusive, but it’s also possible one of the retailers will update the date to match the other.

$100 | Releases June 1 / August 1

This 1:1 scale helmet is based on Dr. Doom’s classic appearance in the Fantastic Four comics, featuring his signature metal mask and green hood. The helmet measures 15 inches long, 9.5 inches wide, and 10 inches tall, which is big enough to be worn by most adults, making it a great cosplay piece. It also comes with a display stand emblazoned with Dr. Doom’s insignia if you want to show it off as a collectible on your shelf. The hood is also removable, revealing the full helmet.

While we don’t know if this is what Dr. Doom’s costume will look like in Avengers: Doomsday, it’s still a cool collectible for Marvel fans. Considering how much buzz there is around the new movie and Downey Jr.’s upcoming portrayal of the character, it’s wise to preorder the Marvel Legends Series Doctor Doom Premium Helmet before it sells out.

The Marvel Legends line of collectibles includes dozens of other replicas and action figures, including other helmets based on fan-favorite characters. For those who want to complete their collection of characters played by Robert Downey Jr., you can grab the Marvel Legends Premium Iron Man Helmet for $100. You can pair that with helmets and accessories inspired by other members of The Avengers, like Black Panther’s mask for $43, or Thor’s hammer Mjolnir for $85. Check the list below for a few more Marvel Legends replicas available now.
