2021 Lexus LX 570 Adds Inspiration Series, Updates Sport Pack

August 15, 2020

After a year’s hiatus, the Lexus LX 570 welcomes the special Inspiration Series trim back to the model line for 2021. Limited to 500 units, the three-row Inspiration Series sports a bevy of blacked-out exterior bits. This includes its 21-inch wheels, grille, exterior accent pieces, and badges. Furthermore, the trim adds black finishes to the fog lights, headlights, and taillights, the latter two of which also include smoked lenses. While black exterior paint comes standard, a coat of white paint is optionally available.

Inside, the LX 570 Inspiration Series features black leather seats with tasteful red accents. Special floor and cargo mats, as well as black headliner, round out the model. Although tasteful, the blacked-out 2021 LX 570 Inspiration Series seems, well, uninspired.

In fact, we’re more interested in the updates made to the SUV’s optional Sport package. Introduced last year, the Sport package is thoroughly revised for 2021 and it trades the 2020 model’s questionable grille pattern for a look more consistent with that of other vehicles in the luxury brand’s model line.

Admittedly, those who despise the Lexus spindle grille will still find the Sport pack’s updated mug rather repugnant. Reworked lower fascias and a new 21-inch wheel design bring even more cohesion to the package’s styling for the new model year.

The option package does nothing to improve power from the SUV’s 5.7-liter V-8 engine. While the big bent-eight moves the LX quickly enough for day-to-day driving, its 383 horsepower fails to turn this heavy off-road-oriented SUV into any sort of “sporting” machine (we recorded a sprint to 60 mph of 7.3 seconds from an LX 570 in 2016).

Pricing for the 2021 Lexus LX 570 starts at $87,605 for the base two-row model—$170 less than last year. Hoping to nab an LX 570 Inspiration Series? Then plan on dropping $100,335.
