Developer Keen Games has announced that Enshrouded’s next update, called, Thralls of Twilight, will launch in May. The game has also crossed the four million players milestone.
The update will bring new gameplay mechanics such as weapon mods, gem crafting, and deconstruction. There will also be a new weapon as well as some combat-balance tweaks. While Keen Games wasn’t specific about some new features, it mentioned that there will be new enemies to fight against.
One of the Enshrouded’s standout features is its day-and-night cycle, which last about 30 minutes and 12 minutes in real-time, respectively. At nighttime, players can catch fireflies as well as encounter rarer enemies like zombies that appear more frequently. The new update will give players new reasons to head out during night time, although specifics weren’t revealed.
Enshrouded is an open-world survival game similar to that of Valheim. It’s currently in Steam Early Access and its 1.0 release is scheduled for Spring 2026. Back in January, Keen Games revealed a roadmap for 2025 that details upcoming new features like player emotes, voice chat, and island raids.
