Google Fi, which has grown from its humble single plan beginnings to offering several plans for unlimited and pay-as-you-go customers, has just announced its most affordable unlimited data plan.
Previously, the cheapest Google Fi plan with no data restrictions was Simply Unlimited, which set users back by $50 per month. With today’s announcement, Simply Unlimited has been renamed to Unlimited Standard, and the new Unlimited Essentials plan takes its place as the most affordable Google Fi unlimited data plan.
Coming in at $35 per month, the new plan, as its name suggests, offers only the essentials. Unlike other Unlimited plans, Unlimited Essentials does not offer hotspot tethering and data, calls, and texts within Canada and Mexico in exchange for dropping the price (for 1 line) from $50 to $35. It does, however, offer unlimited calls, texts and data, with the first 30GB being high-speed.

Additionally, Unlimited Standard (previously Simply Unlimited), now offers 50GB of high-speed data (up from 35 GB) and 25GB of high-speed hotspot tethering (up from 5 GB). It still costs $50 per line. Similarly, Unlimited Premium (previously Unlimited Plus) now offers 100GB of high-speed data (up from 50GB, and the plan comes in at the same $65/month per line price.
Elsewhere, Google Fi is also launching new data-only eSIMs, which should allow users to quickly set up on-the-go internet services devices like Android tablets and iPads without needing a physical card. International 5G data coverage (limited to Unlimited Premium and Flexible plans) is now expanding to 54 additional countries, expanding coverage to a total of 92 destinations.
Lastly, similar to its recent Pixel 9a deal, Google Fi is now offering users the Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel Watch 3 for basically free. The new deal offers an instant $300 discount on a new Pixel 9 Pro, with the remaining $699 credited back over 24 monthly bill credits. Similarly, if you purchase the Pixel 9 Pro, you can get $100 off instantly on a new Pixel Watch 3, with the remaining $349 back over 24 monthly bill credits. Limited to new Google Fi customers, the promotion is only valid until April 29, so act fast if you’ve been waiting to purchase a new flagship Pixel device.
