La Quimera Delayed Just After Reviews Went Live

La Quimera, the story-driven FPS from the developers formerly known as 4A Games Ukraine, has been delayed–just after reviews for the game went live.

Dmytro Lymar, co-founder and CEO of developer Reburn, said in a statement that the studio ran into “some unforeseen challenges” related to La Quimera being the company’s first title as an independent studio.

“We are trying our best to address the matters as quickly as possible, while also navigating the circumstances we’re faced with here in the Ukraine,” the developer said, acknowledging the ongoing Russian offensive into Ukraine.

Earlier this week, a Russian strike in Kyiv killed at least a dozen people as part of the worst attack on the capital city since the summer of 2024.

Lymar added, “We thank you for your patience, your continued support, and your understanding. We’re looking forward to getting La Quimera into player hands as soon as possible.”

More updates will be announced “as soon as we can,” the developer said.

La Quimera was delayed after people had reviewed it. The first wave of reviews were generally not very positive, with Insider Gaming calling it “disappointing” and Wccftech labeling it “short but not sweet.”

The game is set in the year 2064, a time when most nation states are extinct due to human and natural disasters that caused the collapse of global systems. Against this backdrop, private military companies are thriving, with players taking on the role of a PMC operative fighting through Latin America and battling against other factions.

Reburn features developers who previously worked on the Metro series, which consisted of adaptations of Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky’s Metro books. Meanwhile, the next Metro game remains in development at 4A Games.
