If you’re interested in all things Android, then you’ll want to watch Google’s The Android Show: I/O Edition event on Tuesday, May 13.

Usually, we learn about all the new Android updates during the annual Google I/O event, but this year, Google’s doing things a little differently. Google is carving out a spotlight for Android ahead of its Gemini-saturated Google I/O event on May 20, 2025.

Enter: The Android Show, designed to let the world’s most ubiquitous operating system stretch its legs.

Mashable Light Speed

Hosted by Android Ecosystem President Sameer Samat, the event is teed up to deliver a rapid-fire preview of what’s on deck for Android. Expect Android 16 announcements, Wear OS updates, and all things Android-adjacent. And yes, it could be the perfect time for Google to go in-depth on Android XR — the software layer powering Samsung’s upcoming Project Moohan mixed reality headset, which is slated to land later this year.

Where to watch The Android Show: I/O Edition
