Dracula is reframed in a coming-of-age setting in Abraham’s Boys: A Dracula Story, a horror that follows Bram Stoker’s Van Helsing character 18 years after the events of the legendary vampire novel.
Based on Joe Hill’s short story of the same name, Abraham’s Boys teases a troubled 1915 rural family where the two young boys live in the shadow of an erratic father, and a mother who seems convinced (with good reason) that something unpleasant may be closing in on her.
Written and directed by Natasha Kermani (V/H/S/85), Abraham’s Boys stars Titus Welliver, Jocelin Donahue, Aurora Perrineau, Judah Mackey, and Brady Hepner.
Abraham’s Boys is in theaters July 11.
