We love getting our hands on the latest tech, but it definitely doesn’t do our wallets any favors. While we’re able to point out and share plenty of great deals throughout the year in order to save you some money, nothing compares to the sheer volume of discounts that we see during Amazon’s Prime Day sales event.

While the event is pretty much a given at this point, arriving every summer, we were a bit in the dark as to when it would take place this year. Luckily, Amazon has now shared the dates for its huge summer sale, which is expanding from a two-day event to a whopping four days.

When is Amazon’s Prime Day event?

This year’s event will take place starting on July 8 and will run through July 11. As stated before, the huge news here is that Amazon is expanding its event to cover more days, which means those curious will have more time to browse, shop, and save. This year’s Prime Day event will be spread across four days, whereas the previous year’s event took place over two days.

The sales event will start on July 8 at 12:01am, which is important to note since there will be some discounted products that are highly limited. So, when the clock strikes 12:01am on July 8, you better be ready. Naturally, you might not be awake at this time, and that’s okay, because there will be plenty of other deals to browse through. No matter what you’re looking for, Amazon will have you covered.

Who can participate in Amazon’s Prime Day event?

The Prime Day event is reserved primarily for Amazon Prime members. While you’ll be able to see most of the discounts if you’re not a Prime member, however, you will only be able to unlock the special discounts with a Prime membership. If you’ve never tried out Prime before, you can always sign up for a trial membership to see what the service is all about.

The best part about this is that it’s completely free for 30 days, plus you gain access to other perks as well. There are even Prime memberships for students and young adults, with Amazon offering a huge discount on the monthly subscription, along with an even longer six-month trial. Of course, you don’t have to wait until the day of the sale to get an early preview of what might be on sale.

Amazon’s already offering a ton of discounts on a lot of our favorite tech products. But as the time comes closer, check back on Android Police as we highlight some of our favorite deals ahead and during the event.
