Big Galaxy Watch 8 leak spills everything about Samsung’s next smartwatch

July 7, 2025

Samsung will have a busy Unpacked event on July 9th, as it will take the wraps off the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, Flip FE, and its Galaxy Watch 8 lineup. Leaks have already revealed that Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch family will consist of three models and feature a controversial squircle design. Now, a new report details the Galaxy Watch 8’s complete specs and, more importantly, confirms a higher price tag.

There is an alternative, but you won’t like it

Samsung will equip the entire Galaxy Watch 8 lineup with its 3nm Exynos W1000 chip. This is the same SoC that the company uses on the Galaxy Watch 7. All three models — the regular Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and Watch Ultra (2025) — will also sport 2GB of RAM, with the latter two packing 64GB storage.

The entry-level model will supposedly stick with the same 32GB onboard storage as its predecessor.

All three watches will sport the same array of sensors, including Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) and ECG sensors. They will also feature ultra-bright displays with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, protected by Sapphire Glass on top.

Samsung will equip the Ultra with some additional safety features, like an 86dB emergency siren. Plus, it will feature a 47mm titanium casing with a massive 590mAh battery. You can find the full specs of the watches over at Dealabs.

Galaxy Watch 8 could carry a higher price tag in Europe

Unfortunately, the report claims the Galaxy Watch 8 lineup might get a price hike, at least in Europe. The 40mm Galaxy Watch 8 will supposedly retail for €380, with the 44mm commanding a €30 premium. The LTE variant will apparently cost €430 and €460, respectively. These prices are about €50-€60 higher than the Watch 7’s launch price.

Likewise, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic will reportedly retail for €530, with the LTE variant costing an extra €50. It seems only the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) will not get a price bump, with its already steep €700 price tag remaining unchanged. While the EU prices are not directly tied to other markets, Samsung may hike the Watch 8’s pricing in the US.

Reports indicate even the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will cost more than its predecessor in Europe.

Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Watch 8 later this week, on July 9th. Its new smartwatches will then reportedly go on sale in France, and possibly the rest of Europe, on July 23rd.
