Gary Green said: It’s been a rocky year so far for our friends over at Idea Factory. We’ve seen an unenthusiastic assortment of returning franchise revivals mixed in with some underperforming new ideas. Admittedly, the arrival of Mado Monogatari: Fia and the Wondrous Academy didn’t fill me with much hope. Another generic anime dungeon-crawler coming straight after the disappointing Death end re;Quest: Code Z seemed liked a misstep, but perhaps this was an unfair assumption. After all, it’s the little differences that make a standout game, not the similarities.
