Gemini pretty much dominates the headlines when it comes to AI news from Google. And it makes sense, the brand has a huge portfolio of products and services, and it’s doing its best to push AI features wherever it makes sense. Because of this, we’ve seen powerful upgrades to Google Search, Gemini Assistant on Wear OS, and even Gemini for Google Home.

And while some of these features are available for free, you’re going to need to subscribe to take advantage of Google’s more robust tools — that is, unless you’re a student or educator that has access to Gemini for Education, which allows free access to Gemini 2.5 Pro. And if you thought that things couldn’t get any better, think again, as Google is now lifting usage limits, giving away more at no extra cost.

A welcome change that won’t cost you a thing

The news was announced through the Google Workspace Updates blog, letting Gemini for Education users know that previous limits to the service have now been increased, which means those users will essentially get better service than paying customers for the time being. The best part about all of this, and as mentioned before, is that there isn’t going to be any cost added for new access.

Naturally, if you’re someone that’s a student or an educator, it’s probably going to be a good idea to sign up for this service. If you’re a bit more curious about how all of this works, you can get a detailed breakdown of what the service offers. While there are plenty of great tools that can be used for fun, like video creations using Google’s Veo 3, there are also real game-changers that could streamline your education, like NotebookLM.

The best part is that you can pretty much access Google’s tools on any platform and any device. There are also apps and tools exclusive to Android phones and tablets as well. Plus, if you pick up a Pixel phone, you get premium access at no cost, which is a nice perk to have. Regardless of how you access it, Gemini is always changing, delivering new ways to discover the things you care about.
