After giving a nonsensical press conference about crime levels in Washington D.C., Donald Trump has deployed the National Guard in the U.S. Capitol and placed it under federal control.
During her first episode guest hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live!, comedian and actor Nicole Byer responded directly to Trump’s widely criticised actions by highlighting an important episode of recent history.
“I mean the man’s got a point, D.C. can be a very, very dangerous place,” Byer says in the clip above. “I remember on January 6, 2021, when someone told an angry mob to get their steps in by storming the Capitol, and that someone was the president.“
