Google has just launched the final version of Android 11 to a number of smartphones. The latest major update to its mobile operating system is always celebrated at the Mountain View campus with a statue, and this year is no exception.

Dave Burke, Vice President of Engineering for Android at Google, posted up an image of the Android 11 statue on his Twitter page. Well, sort of. The big “11” statue is shown on Google’s campus, but it’s not actually a physical statue. Google is allowing anyone to view the Android 11 statue in AR.
In a follow-up tweet, Burke explained that you can head to this website on your phone to see a virtual version of the statue. When you tap on the “View In 3D” option, you can see the statue in your current space via augmented reality. The AR statue is only viewable with Android phones that support ARCore technology. The Android mascot pops in and out of the statue in this AR version.
As if that were not enough, there’s a special secret Easter egg in that AR statue. If you rotate the statue and check out its back, you will see a list of what’s new in Android 11 that’s been “carved” into one of the numbers. On the stand itself, you will see a recipe for making your own red velvet cake if you turn it to one of its sides. Red Velvet Cake is the internal codename Google has for Android 11.
