If Xbox Game Pass dies then we’ll have lost one of gaming’s best tools for discovery

I used to own the chunky original Xbox, then upgraded to the Xbox 360. Not long after, I sold the 360 on eBay once the RRoD stories started spreading everywhere. Got positive feedback from the buyer—he seemed happy, but I’ve always wondered if that happiness lasted.

The only reason I jumped into Xbox at all was for exclusives like Halo, Project Gotham Racing, Test Drive Unlimited, and Splinter Cell. Outside of those, PlayStation just had the bigger, stronger library overall—and honestly, I always preferred the PS controller too. Eventually I drifted back to PlayStation and stuck with it through each generation.

So here we are—happy 30th anniversary to PlayStation!
