2021 Land Rover Defender Adds Two-Door 90 Model, X-Dynamic Trim

September 11, 2020

The 2021 Land Rover Defender X-Dynamic slots between the standard model and the brawny Defender X. It features gloss black door trim, gloss black cladding, and Silicon Satin skid pans. Open the doors, and you’ll find Robustec, a durable material that protects the cabin from wear and tear.

Previously delayed, the stubby Defender 90 makes an entrance. Starting at $47,450, this two-door SUV seats up to five or six people, depending on the configuration. It can be had with either Land Rover’s 2.0-liter turbo-four making 296 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, or the mild-hybrid 3.0-liter turbo V-6 system boasting 395 horsepower and 406 lb-ft. Of course, buyers can still opt for the four-door Defender 110, with prices starting from $51,850. This model offers five, six, or 5+2 seating.

Once again, the Land Rover Defender can compete with the best off-roaders. The Defender 110 boasts better breakover and departure angles than the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, and the short-wheelbase Defender 90 has an even more impressive breakover angle of 31 degrees. The SUV boasts a max ground clearance of 11.5 inches and boasts a wading depth of 35.4 inches. Despite our initial suspicions, the automatic-locking differentials work well off the beaten path.
