Borderlands 4 Gets Massive Early Black Friday Discount At Amazon

November 17, 2025

Amazon’s Black Friday 2025 sale doesn’t officially begin until November 20, but the online retailer is offering some stellar early video game deals for PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch 1/2. One of the most notable early discounts is Borderlands 4. Launched in September with a $70 retail price, Gearbox’s long-awaited looter-shooter is up for grabs for $48 on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Black Friday deals on games that aren’t out yet are uncommon, but Amazon is also offering a big discount on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 port of Borderlands 4. The Switch 2 port doesn’t have a release date, but you won’t be charged until your preorder ships.

$48 (was $70)

While previous Borderlands games were primarily set on the planet of Pandora–Borderlands 3 expanded on this with several more planets to visit–Borderlands 4 takes place on the world of Kairos, giving players free rein to cause some chaos as they take on the forces of the Timekeeper.

Just like its predecessors, the key goal here is to take control of one of four unique Vault Hunters, grow their skills, and strengthen them further by finding powerful weapons and gear. It’s a formula that has been present since the original Borderlands game, but in Borderlands 4, that gameplay has been fine-tuned to its best and enhanced with quality-of-life features.

$55 (was $70) | Release Date TBA

The Nintendo Switch 2 port of Borderlands 4 was originally slated for October 3, just a few weeks after the game’s September 1 launch on other platforms. But then about a week before launch day, Gearbox announced an indefinite delay to polish the experience on Switch 2.

If you’re planning on buying Borderlands 4 for Nintendo Switch 2, it makes sense to secure a preorder right now. Amazon has slashed $15 from the price, so you can secure Borderlands 4 on Switch 2 for $55. Keep in mind this is a Game-Key Card, so you will need to download Borderlands 4 from the eShop after loading the cartridge into your console for the first time.

Since launch, developer Gearbox has further tweaked Borderlands 4 with several big updates, balance patches, and weekly hotfixes. The studio also has extensive post-launch plans for the game–both paid and free–with the first DLC dropping on November 20 and adding all-new missions, enemies and legendary gear.

Endgame content is also arriving toward the end of the year, as players will be able to test their skills and Vault Hunter builds against a tough boss called Bloomreaper the Invincible.

More Black Friday Video Game Deals

Borderlands 4 on Switch 2 isn’t the only upcoming game in Amazon’s early Black Friday sale. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate’s Pipin’ Hot Collector’s Edition is available to preorder for a $20 discount on PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox. Unlike Borderlands, we know when this one launches: December 5.

Nintendo players looking to pass the time before Borderlands 4 lands on Switch 2 should check out Amazon’s deals on Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy and Red Dead Redemption. Both games are discounte to new all-time lows, and Red Dead is getting a free Switch 2 update December 2.
