Your Google Photos 2025 Recap is now live

Following in YouTube and YouTube Music’s footsteps, another Google service is now ready to show you your year-end recap.

In its first ever recap iteration, Google Photos, last year, highlighted photos and videos that made users’ year special. This time around, the platform is doing more of the same, alongside new ways for you to personalize, create, and share your Recap.

Google Photos 2024 recap is like Spotify Wrapped for your memories

Google just launched a photos recap

Highlighted in a new blog post earlier today, Recap is back for 2025, and it is ready to turn “your photos and videos from the past year into a highlight reel you can enjoy and share.”

The app will use some of your most memorable photos and moments from 2025 and pair them with fun graphics and cinematic effects to create a story-like recap. “You’ll see familiar photo stats from last year, like your top people and total photo count — and this year we also added a selfie count,” wrote Google.

Elsewhere, Google Photos users in the US with Gemini features enabled in the app will also see a new “standout hobbies and top highlights” section within the Recap, as seen in the second GIF above. If, for any reason, you want to hide specific people or photos from your recap, you do have the option to do that.

Finally, Google is also making it easier for you to turn your personalized recap into shareable content. Google Photos Recaps now feature an ‘Edit with CapCut’ button at the very end, allowing users to export the recap and choose from different exclusive Google Photos templates.

Google Photos Recap is going live now and should be widely visible this week. “If it’s not there, you may see an option at the top of the app where you can request for Photos to create it,” wrote the tech giant.
