History is definitely in favor of PlayStation®5. In terms of units sold, PS4 amassed an unthinkable achievement by landing at the #2 spot of total home consoles sold of all time. The reason why this is important is because Sony Interactive Entertainment is en route to repeating history once again. When the original PlayStation was released in 1994, it took the gaming industry by storm and became the became the highest selling console at the time. This record was later broken by the PlayStation®2 with 150 million units sold and still stands at the #1 spot today.
Given that the PS4 was able to surpass the original PS1 in sales and the strong momentum that PlayStation®5 has going into next-gen, Dark Sniper thinks 200 million units is a very realistic possibility for PS5. It was once thought that the PS4 ushered in a new golden age of gaming, but it looks as if the PlayStation®5 will set a new standard and bring in the Platinum age of gamers. Dark Sniper is extremely confident that Sony Interactive Entertainment will strike lighting in a bottle a third time by surpassing the PlayStation®2.
As of November 12th 2020, SNE will already have 11 million in the bag as PS5 units rapidly sell out worldwide.
