Again, the scam is very simple: this project was designed as a “feature-creep-riddled project”—read the words carefully—so they could extend the release deadlines indefinitely, or for as long as they can, which at this point is 13 years and counting. And for what? For Roberts and his immediate family to be able to maintain a high standard of living. Live the good life. Buy themselves a boat and go on expensive vacations, etc. You get it.
While you’re looking over here, at the state of the game, the real project for them is how many features they can creep into it and for how long they can maintain it. It’s very simple, really. This is a version of the scam usually run by construction companies. Not the same, but fairly similar.
