Having a screen in your vehicle used to be something out of the ordinary. But most modern cars will now come with an in-dash infotainment system that delivers everything you’re used to, while adding an extra layer to the experience.

Of course, if you’re someone that’s not living like that at this point, then upgrading might seem like a bit of a stretch, especially considering the price and hassle of installing it. Luckily, both of those hurdles are no longer issues thanks to some of the modern options available.

It’s hard to believe it’s this easy and affordable

We’ve seen cheaper Android Auto screens in the past, but this one, at just $40, takes things to another level. You get a 7-inch screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, along with an installation kit that also includes a backup camera.

When it comes to getting it into your car, the process is pretty simple. Just mount the suction attachment to your dash, then attach the Android Auto screen. You’ll get power to the device by plugging it into the DC outlet in your car, which every vehicle has.

From here, it’s all about getting the audio connected, and you’ll have a few choices, like Bluetooth, a 3.5mm audio jack, FM transmitter, or using the device’s own built-in speaker. We recommend the first two options to get the best results.

Naturally, from here, you can connect your phone to get one of the best in-vehicle experiences available. And over time, that experience will evolve as Android Auto updates come to your phone.

Not a bad upgrade if you want change for cheap

This isn’t going to be the most fluid experience possible with Android Auto, but it should be an improvement over a standard in-dash head unit with no display. If this sounds like what you’re looking for, now’s going to be a good time to pick this up.
