After Decades Of Anticipation, Here's A Look At Diablo's Newest (And Most Beautiful) Region: Skovos

Diablo 4 developer Blizzard offered players a closer look at the game’s next expansion, Lord of Hatred, via its Diablo Spotlight event. Unlike the game’s previous expansion, which was set in the all-new region of Nahantu, Lord of Hatred takes place in a location that’s been mentioned repeatedly throughout the Diablo series’ history, yet has never before made an appearance: Skovos.

According to Diablo lore, the Skovos Isles are the birthplace of humanity, and Lilith and Inarius’s homeland. As such, these islands are rich in lore and covered in ruins left behind by the first humans. Even the Horadrim has ties to the area, as the first order left behind a vault on its main island. Currently, the Mediterranean-inspired region is ruled and inhabited by the Askari (or Amazons) and the order of Oracles–neither of which will be too thrilled about your forthcoming visit and Mephisto’s looming invasion.

After decades of teases, we finally have a good look at the Skovos Isles and the four islands it comprises: Philios, Skovos, Lycander, and Skartara. While we might have to wait until April 28 to truly experience the region, here’s a glimpse at Diablo 4’s most beautiful map so far.
