Google Pixel 10a is officially here, and Verizon is practically giving it away

Today is the day. Google’s latest mid-range device has officially been unveiled, with pre-orders now open for all.

The mid-ranger I’m talking about is the tech giant’s Pixel 10a, Google’s pocket-friendly alternative that aims to offer a flagship experience at roughly half the cost of actual flagships. The monetary barrier to entry into Google’s A series isn’t relatively high, but today, that value proposition gets even more aggressive.

Here are all the vibrant Pixel 10a colors you can pick from

Google is making the new Pixel pop with color

Although Google is running its own promotions for the new device, Verizon is taking the discounts one step further by essentially offering the new phone for free.

The carrier giant, which normally locks its ‘$0’ deals behind its most expensive ‘Ultimate’ plans, is being rather inclusive this time around. New and existing Verizon customers can get a new Pixel 10a for $0 with a new smartphone line on an Unlimited Ultimate, Unlimited Plus, or Unlimited Welcome plan.

Unlimited Ultimate starts at $90/mo, while Unlimited Plus, and Unlimited Welcome cost $80/mo and $65/mo, respectively. Verizon is ensuring a 3-year price lock guarantee on said plans.

Still, it doesn’t make up for underwhelming features

Similarly, the carrier is offering Verizon Business customers a 128GB Pixel 10a for free with “qualifying” My Biz or Business Unlimited plans. The carrier giant didn’t share more about the business promotion.

Elsewhere, the device is also expected to be available to Visible, Straight Talk, and Total Wireless customers “at special pricing and in select colors.”

If the Pixel 10a isn’t really your thing, Verizon is offering a solid promotion on the Pixel 10 Pro too. The carrier is offering the Pixel 10 Pro for $0 on new lines on select Unlimited plans (no trade-in required). Of course, both of these promotions are made possible with monthly bill credits applied over 36 months, so if you’re a new customer, you’d have to commit to Verizon for at least three years.
