Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold is barely out the door, but the problems are already rolling in

With any new phone, or even a line that’s been tested and refined, you’re going to have people reporting problems. It can come in the form of a hardware or software issue, but someone, somewhere, is going to have a less than ideal experience. It’s just bound to happen and seeing complaints online can have an effect that magnifies the problem even when it’s not that big of a deal.

Of course, it’s still important to take these complaints seriously, because, as we’ve seen in the past, they can end up becoming a huge deal. With that said, we’re getting a report from Android Headlines about the Galaxy Z TriFold, with some users on Reddit highlighting the fact that their inner displays aren’t doing so great.

Things will happen

Although the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold just released in the US towards the end of January, it has been available outside the country since December. So, at the very least, we’re getting some problems cropping up with just a couple of months of use at the longest. As far as the issue, the inner screen seems to stop working, displaying no image.

The user reports that they did see some green flash, with some suggesting that it could mean something is wrong with the display cable, as this is a problem seen with more traditional foldable phones. Another person on the same subreddit shared their display troubles with the Galaxy Z TriFold, showing a video of the display flashing to white and becoming unresponsive.

As you can imagine, this is a less than ideal scenario, especially since the phone is so new. But as stated before, we aren’t surprised since first generation products often have the most issues. Luckily, the phone is still under warranty, which means Samsung will be able to replace or repair the issue if it is a manufacturer defect.

It will just get better and better

Samsung was the first brand to release a foldable phone to retail. We’ve come a long way since that time, with Samsung’s foldables seeing iterative refinements, to the point where most people consider the phones boring now. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the best in its class, with a design that’s incredibly sleek.

We know that the Galaxy Z TriFold is just the first step, and we have no doubts that Samsung will continue to make the line better and better. While foldable Android phones have been the norm for a while, this year, Apple is rumored to release its first take on a foldable phone, so it will be interesting to see what it can come up with.
