The Galaxy S26 is already breaking Samsung records

The Galaxy S26 is already a massive hit for Samsung in its home market, even before it hit retail stores, with the company receiving a record number of preorders. In the US, the Galaxy S26 is doing even better, with the company receiving 25% more preorders across all channels.

In its announcement, Samsung says the Galaxy S26 lineup received 25% more preorders than last year’s Galaxy S25 series. Even more impressively, the Galaxy S26 Ultra accounts for 80% of those total preorders. Worldwide, the Galaxy S26 preorder numbers have surpassed Samsung’s previous best flagships, posting a double-digit increase. The Ultra model is also performing strongly globally, accounting for around 70% of total sales.

US carriers are seeing even stronger interest in the new Galaxy flagships, with a 70% increase in preorders over the S25. Retailers like Best Buy are seeing the same trend, reporting double the preorder numbers compared to previous Galaxy flagships.

With Samsung reserving many of its best features for the Ultra model, it’s not surprising that consumers are gravitating toward it over the regular and Plus variants despite the steep $1,300 MSRP.

Strong demand despite weaker preorder offers

Samsung typically rolls out compelling preorder deals when launching new flagship devices to drive early sales. However, due to the ongoing DRAM and NAND crisis, the offers for the Galaxy S26 in the US were relatively lukewarm. The company did not even include its usual free storage upgrade.

Add in the economic uncertainties, and the Galaxy S26’s strong preorder numbers are impressive. And they arrive despite the phone only packing modest upgrades over its predecessor and the lack of any breakthrough new features, except for the S26 Ultra’s Privacy Display.

The Galaxy S26 family goes on sale in major markets globally from today (March 11). Samsung started shipping preorders last week itself, so if you managed to place your order early, chances are you must have already got the device. If not, it should be delivered today. In case you did not place a preorder, you can get your hands on the Galaxy S26 from your nearest retailer or carrier store.
