The OnePlus Watch 3 is one of the best smartwatches with Wear OS you can get, as it perfectly blends great design with long battery life.
Rumors are now gathering about a sequel, likely called the OnePlus Watch 4, and it seems the brand won’t stray too far from the already winning formula, while also introducing a key new durability spec.
Certification spec leaks
Details about the OnePlus Watch 4 appeared on a database of approved products by EMVCo, which tests for compliance in contactless payments, making it an unusual source for leaked future devices. Further specs were added by a source on X.
According to the information, the OnePlus Watch 4 will have a 646mAh battery inside, slightly up from the 631mAh cell inside the OnePlus Watch 3. It’ll apparently also be paired with the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor, which also powers the OnePlus Watch 3.
Google’s Wear OS 5.0 is rumored to be the operating system, which along with the tiny capacity bump for the battery, may see the the Watch 4 last even longer on a single charge. However, the specs don’t suggest we’ll see a significant increase.
Better dust and water resistance
The big change on the leaked spec sheet is an IP69 dust and water resistance rating, up from the IP68 dust and water resistance rating on the OnePlus Watch 3.
We would be surprised if the IP69 rating wasn’t joined by an IP68 rating, and we’re seeing the pairing on various phones like the Honor Magic 8 Pro.
While IP69 protects against harsh, fast-moving, high pressure jets of water, such as when cleaning a device or during extreme sports, IP68 is more suitable for immersion into water for longer periods, making it ideal for consumer electronics.
Putting them together makes for a highly durable package, and ideal for smartwatches used for sport. It may use this durability to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, by offering toughness without an overtly rugged design.
More leaked details
OnePlus may not change the screen size or resolution on the OnePlus Watch 4, with the leak stating a 1.5-inch AMOLED display with a 466 x 466 pixel resolution.
The leak also only mentions a single 47mm case size. OnePlus launched a smaller OnePlus Watch 3 43mm version after the original 46mm Watch 3, and depending on the sales success of it, may do the same with the OnePlus Watch 4.
News of the OnePlus Watch 4 comes after Oppo, which has close ties to OnePlus, announced the Oppo Watch X3 in China. The smartwatch has a 47mm case size, a 1.5-inch AMOLED screen, a Snapdragon W5 processor and both an IP68 and an IP69 dust and water resistance rating. It may be the template for the OnePlus Watch 4.
OnePlus has not officially announced the OnePlus Watch 4, and these specifications are not confirmed, so they may not be accurate. The OnePlus Watch 3 was released in April 2025, and is currently out of stock on OnePlus’s website, suggesting the OnePlus Watch 4 is coming soon.
