A Nomad tracking card with Find Hub support is finally here

TL;DR

  • Nomad first launched the Tracking Card Air in 2024, but this week it is launching a Google Find Hub version for the first time.
  • The Tracking Card Air with Find Hub support lasts for seven months on a single charge, which is two months longer battery life than the Find My model.
  • Nomad’s Tracking Card Air with Find Hub compatibility costs $29, and it sold out almost instantly.

Bluetooth tracking cards keep track of wallets while maintaining a compact form factor and a sense of subtlety. To date, popular tracking cards have launched primarily with Apple Find My support, with Google Find Hub compatibility being less common. The tide is starting to turn, though, as Urban Armor Gear (UAG) announced the Metropolis Tracker Card with Find Hub and Find My support earlier this month. Now, Nomad is refreshing the Tracking Card Air with a Find Hub-compatible model for the first time.

The Tracking Card Air is a thin and lightweight Bluetooth tracker that is roughly the size of two credit cards. The official dimensions are 86mm x 54mm x 1.7mm, with a weight of 12 grams. Unlike the thicker Nomad Tracking Card Pro, which isn’t available with Google Find Hub support, the Tracking Card Air isn’t disguised as a credit card. It has a livery that makes it easy to spot as a Bluetooth tracker to anyone up close.

The Tracking Card Air costs $29 for both the Find My and Find Hub versions, but there are a few differences. The Apple Find My model is available in both white and black colorways, while the Google Find Hub variant is exclusively available in black. More importantly, the Find Hub model offers a seven-month battery life, while the Find My version has a shorter five-month battery life.

Nomad’s Tracking Card Air is rechargeable using any MagSafe or Qi wireless charging pad. It connects with any Android device running Android 9 or newer with the Google Find Hub app. When connected, the Find Hub app displays the current Tracking Card Air battery percentage.

Nomad says that the Tracking Card Air has minimal amounts of metal, and doesn’t have magnets. This means users won’t have to worry about the Tracking Card Air demagnetizing their credit cards. However, the company points out that RFID-blocking wallets could interfere with the Bluetooth signals sent to and from the Tracking Card Air.

The Tracking Card Air doesn’t have ultra-wideband (UWB) support, and instead relies on Bluetooth for connectivity. This isn’t surprising, because few Find Hub trackers support UWB, but it’s worth keeping in mind.

Nomad’s Tracking Card Air with Find Hub support comes about two years after it launched the initial Find My model. It sold out almost instantly, suggesting there’s demand for more Find Hub wallet tracking cards.
