If you’re using Google Vids for your creative project, you’re soon going to have access to a much-needed shortcut that bridges the gap between creation and sharing said creation.
For reference, the AI-powered tool, which was first launched in 2024, uses a range of Gemini-powered AI features to generate a cohesive video for you. It can leverage Lyria 3, AI Avatars, Nano Banana, Veo 3.1, and more.
However, despite its creation prowess, the platform has lacked a direct integration with Google’s biggest video-sharing platform. That, however, is set to change now.
In a new Workspace Updates post, the tech giant highlighted that it’s finally bridging the gap between Google Vids and YouTube. Prior to today, if you wanted to share your Google Vids-created video on YouTube, you had to export the project as an MP4 file, then go to YouTube to upload the file.
In an attempt to reduce this friction, the tech giant is now giving users the option to publish the videos they create in Google Vids directly to YouTube. “Whether you are creating marketing videos, training materials, or educational content, this feature reduces manual effort and simplifies the publishing process,” wrote Google.
Your videos wont go public without your permission
As seen in the short GIF above, users will be able to export directly to YouTube via ‘File.’ Once exported, you’ll be redirected to YouTube to finally review and publish.
All exported videos will initially be set to Private. Once you review the content in YouTube Studio, you can set the visibility to Public.
The feature will be available to all Google Workspace customers and users with personal Google accounts. Expect it to be widely visible around mid-April.
