I don’t know if this will get me booted off but it’s unfortunately a pretty big problem. At least it used to be, I can’t speak for the last ~5 years but doubt things have changed. To be clear, there are great studios too but my experience at a few of the top tier american studios, it’s pretty bad. Sometimes it’s isolated to departments, sometimes it’s just toxic competition between very talented artists wanting a certain title, but often it trickles down from the top. I will say that the last studio I worked at was fantastic and that was definitely due to the leadership.
