This new AT&T Prepaid deal lands you a 2026 Motorola phone for only 10 bucks — here’s how it works

It’s no secret that AT&T Prepaid offers the coverage of a Big Three carrier with the simplicity and contract-free versatility of an MVNO, but many folks are unaware that the carrier is also home to a bunch of great phone deals. Just in time for Tax Day, activate a prepaid plan and AT&T Prepaid will give you the new Moto G Play (2026) for only $9.99.

No trade-in is required, and there’s no confusing contract to worry about: the deal is simply AT&T Prepaid offering a cheap, reliable Android phone to pair with your cheap, reliable wireless plan. You can thank me later.

Starting at just $180, the Moto G Play (2026) isn’t exactly a mind-blowing device. Instead, Motorola has created a phone that’s simply good at being a phone, plus you get a few premium extras that bely the low price, such as a 120Hz display, vegan leather finish, and up to two days of battery life on a single charge.

Although you’re limited to 64GB of onboard storage, the Moto G Play (2026) is one of the few phones that supports expandable storage up to 1TB when you use a microSD card. You also get 5G connectivity and a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a rarity these days.

Camera performance is about what you’d expect from a sub-$200 phone (i.e. not great) and you shouldn’t expect snappy performance when streaming video or playing games, but again, you get what you pay for.

AT&T Prepaid is similarly lacking in premium extras, but it’s a great choice if you want simple, effective wireless coverage that doesn’t come with a confusing contract or loads of fine print. The plans that earn you the $10 phone start at $35 per month and come with unlimited talk, text, and data on AT&T’s vast 5G/4G LTE network, plus you get international texting and some advanced security coverage provided by the carrier.

These days, there are a lot of great prepaid phone plans to choose from, but if you like how AT&T does business and you want to get a dirt-cheap phone out of the deal, this offer on the Moto G Play (2026) is worth a look.
