Zack Snyder’s Justice League Will Be “Even Better” Says Henry Cavill

After a successful multi-year social media campaign from fans, the “Snyder Cut” of Justice League is a $70-million reality. Superman himself Henry Cavill says he’s “really excited to see [Snyder’s] vision realized.”

“[Zack] got to be the train. I think it’s only fair that that train gets to reach its station which he was aiming for,” Cavill said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. “I think it’s important that that vision is realized. Whether you agree with it or not, it doesn’t matter.”

“It’s a storyteller’s, it’s a filmmaker’s right to have that vision realized. I’m excited to see it. I’m excited to see what that vision was and how it looks. He’s got the advantage of hindsight now. It’s going to be even better. I just want to see a good movie or a series of movies.”

Justice League hit theaters in 2017 with a dull thud. The film shifted from Snyder to Joss Whedon when Snyder suffered a family tragedy. After the film released, fans began to call for Snyder to see his vision brought to life with the hashtag #releasethesnydercut. The persistence paid off when Warner Bros. greenlit the re-cut Justice League film as an exclusive for the HBO Max streaming service owned by Warner Bros. parent company AT&T. While the movie was initially meant to be a simple recut with a $20 million budget, the cut has turned into a four-part miniseries that will bring back the cast for additional shooting on a budget of $70 million.

THR reported on September 23 that the cast, including Cavill, would return to shoot additional footage, but Cavill has since said that he is not currently “shooting anything additional.” Zack Snyder’s Justice League is set to release on HBO Max in 2021.
