If you were hoping for a last-minute miracle to secure Samsung’s most ambitious device yet, you had your chance. The ambitious device I’m talking about is the Galaxy Z Trifold, which went out of stock soon after it was released in the US.
It was subsequently discontinued in March 2026, with Samsung quoting high production cost issues.
If you weren’t able to grab the device during its initial availability run, you were recently in luck. The South Korean tech giant recently indicated that the phone would be available to purchase online and in stores starting Friday, April 10th. And that’s exactly what happened.
The three-screen foldable was available to purchase for one (likely) final, frantic week. That window, however, has now slammed shut, as pointed out by 9to5Google.
Samsung has now indicated that the sale was potentially the last chance you had to buy the device brand-new directly from the tech giant. Visiting the Trifold’s page on Samsung’s website now reads: “The limited-run Galaxy Z TriFold is now completely sold out.”
“Keep visiting samsung.com to make sure you don’t miss upcoming one-of-a-kind innovations, and shop the latest foldables and premium mobile devices now from Samsung Galaxy,” reads the page, which subtly suggests that users should not look forward to the Trifold coming back in stock.
Instead, the page suggests users check out the Z Fold 7 and the S26 Ultra.
A successor is in the works
The tech giant refers to the Trifold as a “limited-run” device, which is funny because that was not indicated when the device was first released. Samsung likely realized along the way that maintaining a steady supply chain for a $2,900 niche device was a nightmare and decided to label it a limited-run device instead of a forced discontinuation.
If you’re still looking to pick up a Samsung Trifold, secondary markets are now your best bet. Alternatively, Samsung hasn’t given up on the Trifold dream, and a successor, which is reportedly in the works, might be worth waiting for!
