Basically what prime says above.
It’s nice if a company wants to give away a better version for free which is by definition “cross buy”. I’d love if all of it was free. But gamers aren’t entitled to it. And developers shouldn’t be expected to give it away all the time.
BC that makes a last Gen game look better is a courtesy to gamers. Not a right. A reworked game that’s built to take advantage of a newer console and given away is a courtesy. Not a right.
If a developer puts in more work, more time and more money, they deserve compensation.
