Samsung’s original Galaxy Ring took the world by storm when it was first unveiled by the South Korean tech giant back in 2024. It was a first-of-its-kind for Samsung.
Fast-forward to 2026, and we still don’t have a successor to the finger wearable. With the tech giant now focused on the ‘Wide’ Galaxy Z Fold, it’s unlikely that we’ll get the Galaxy Ring 2 anytime soon, but that doesn’t mean the wearable isn’t coming.
Samsung’s Galaxy Ring 2 reportedly in the works, but don’t expect it any time soon
A 2025 release is likely not on the cards
We’ve heard reports in the past that pointed at the Galaxy Ring 2 being in development. Now, information coming straight out of South Korea points at the next-gen Ring arriving sometime “early next year.”
The information was highlighted by ETNews (via 9to5Google).
For what it’s worth, there was some initial speculation surrounding the Ring’s release during an Unpacked event in the second half of this year. That schedule, however, has been re-evaluated.
“It is highly likely that the Galaxy Ring 2 will be unveiled in early next year,” said a source familiar with the matter. “I understand that the successor product is focusing on improving battery life, comfort, and sensor accuracy,” the source added.
The source added that the Ring 2 is being developed to improve its predecessor’s weaknesses. The development is prioritizing internal component placement to reduce thickness and weight, all while improving wearing comfort. “Battery life is also being extended from the existing maximum of 7 days to 9–10 days,” the report adds.
Elsewhere, health tracking features are also expected to be improved, complete with better sleep analysis and expanded insights related to cardiovascular health.
Samsung reportedly wanted to add non-invasive blood glucose monitoring to the ring, but the plan has reportedly been put on hold.
