I used Gemini to plan a date, and my partner noticed the difference

When I first used a generative AI tool, it felt cool and not like a tool that I could use in my daily life. This was my ignorance at play, as I didn’t know about the phrase “prompt engineering.”

ChatGPT was the first generative AI tool I used. This was the place I experimented with prompts the most. By the time I switched to Gemini, I had already developed a decent skill at typing a prompt to get the best answer.

While prompts are important, Gemini packs some exciting features and a tight integration with many of its popular services to make things easier for you.

Gemini made me the most organized person in my friend circle, which I never thought would happen. Such was its impact on my life. So, why not use Gemini to plan a date? I did it, and it worked.

I used Gemini to plan a date, and my partner noticed the difference.

Gemini gave me a fresh perspective on dating

And I needed it the most

I’m stuck in the standard “dinner and a movie” routine when going on a date with my partner. It went on like this for years, which I would unabashedly call a lack of effort from my side.

I never asked her how she felt about our previous routine and whether she ever felt stuck in repetition. But before she started complaining, Gemini intervened and helped me move away from the previous routine.

It may not be relevant to ask her about our previous date outings because she already felt the difference after I used Gemini to plan the date.

It’s not just her. I can’t remember the last time I felt this connected on a date with her, which clearly suggests nothing was right about my dating plans.

They never sparked the emotional connection and never felt nearly as good as the last outing that Gemini planned for me.

What I liked about Gemini’s suggestions was that it didn’t try to give me a “perfect” dating plan. Instead, it focused on making the outing feel spontaneous and high-energy, moving away from traditional date logic, which feels like a script everyone has read.

However, I also put in some effort to make Gemini spell out the best pieces of advice that would work for both of us.

Believe it or not, but I never asked my friends about how they plan their dates with their partners. I never sought help from the internet, either.

However, I’m aware of the basics I need to consider before planning a date. Whenever I took her on a date, I always kept in mind what she likes to eat because she is a foodie.

She loves watching movies, too. So, watching movies together became a routine in my dating plans.

I was right to consider her likes, but failed to look beyond what she loves to eat and her favorite movie stars.

This is not to say that I know only a little about her. I just couldn’t find enough fun and meaningful activities that matched her personality type beyond movies and dinner.

This is where Gemini stepped in. It suggested a host of activities that perfectly matched my partner’s personality. I pat myself on the back for mentioning her traits in the prompt.

In its first response, Gemini made three suggestions to elevate my romantic date. They were all great, but a bit cliché for couples who have been dating for a long time.

In anticipation of a better response, I asked Gemini to come up with a better plan that suited my partner’s traits.

It came with a completely different set of plans after I mentioned her personality type. Gemini predicted she would appreciate tradition, so its first suggestion was to take her on a “Protected Heritage” outing.

In addition, it suggested some venues and ways to give it a romantic touch.

The next prediction it made was that she would greatly value shared history, so it suggested walking through places that have meaning for both of us.

After reading this suggestion, I instantly planned to take her to the place where we first met.

It again reminded me to give it a romantic touch. One of the suggestions it made was mentioning a small detail she told me months ago.

This also inspired her to go back in time and try to spark nostalgia by telling her stories about what we did when we first met.

It brought a big smile to her face when I was telling the stories.

Gemini also suggested that I take her on a “Stress-free” nature date, and I have reserved it for my next plan.

Whenever that happens, Gemini reminds me to ask her whether she likes the place or if we should head to the next spot.

I have also started using the “We” language more after reading Gemini’s response.

These were all helpful tips because they worked.

I’ll keep using Gemini to seek dating advice

I will never make the same mistake of coming up with the same set of plans every time we go on a date.

No matter how good the plans are, they’ll eventually become boring because of repetition.

This doesn’t mean I’ll move to another AI service for advice. Instead, I’ll trust Gemini more to plan my future dates, because it has an incredible ability to plan according to the situation.

There is no better testament than how happy she was on our first Gemini-powered date. I can’t wait to do it again.
