  • Some early Apple TV Plus subscribers will see their free year extended.
  • The extension applies to users who bought new Apple hardware and signed up between November 1, 2019 and January 31, 2020.
  • They will now keep getting Apple TV Plus for free until their billing date in February 2021.

It’s now October 2020. That would normally mean some early Apple TV Plus users would be nearing the end of their year-long free trial. However, there’s some good news from Apple for many of these early adopters.

According to TechCrunch, users who bought new hardware from Apple between November 1, 2019 through January 31, 2020, and then signed up for the free year of Apple TV Plus, now won’t be charged until their February 2021 billing period. That means for some users, they will get as much as three extra free months of Apple TV Plus. If you paid for a yearly plan during that same time period, you will still get those same months or days for free.

If you signed up, or plan to sign up, for the $4.99 monthly Apple TV Plus plan before November 1, 2020, you will get a $4.99 credit during November-December 2020 and January 2021. That could cause a lot of folks who have yet to check out the service to sign up before the end of October. The article also confirmed Apple will continue to offer the free year of Apple TV Plus for anyone who buys a new Apple hardware product.

The Apple TV Plus extended free offer will make a lot of people happy. Most of the major movies that were due in theaters in 2020 have now been delayed into 2021, or even longer, due to the coronavirus outbreak. If you’re an Apple TV Plus user and are wondering what to watch, we’ve got you covered.
