Paralives is a new life simulator game inspired by The Sims franchise, and just like its inspiration, there are plenty of mods you can download to create a more immersive experience. While Paralives is still in its infancy, mod creators have been hard at work to give you more control over your paras and the game as a whole. Of course, it will take a long time before you have access to a mod library as expansive as The Sims, but the game is off to a great start.

Paralives Sims 3 Camera

Paralives isn’t The Sims, but you can make it a little more like that franchise with the Sims 3 Camera mod. The mod is pretty simple; it replaces the default camera in Paralives with one that gives you the same functionality as the camera in The Sims 3. You can use different mouse functions to pan and rotate your camera, allowing you to revisit some of your old muscle memory. The mod also allows for different configurations, so you can tweak your camera in different ways.
Bed Claiming

Normally, your paras in Paralives use whatever bed they can find that’s open. While this might not be a problem in some situations, if you want your paras to own a particular room, you likely want them to take ownership of a specific bed. That’s where the Bed Claiming mod comes in. It doesn’t make your paras only sleep in a single bed, but it lets you pick a preferred bed for them that they will attempt to use before any other bed.
Paralives Optimizations

Paralives doesn’t have horrible PC optimization, but it could certainly be better, especially for lower-end systems. The Paralives Optimizations mod aims to solve some of those problems by attempting to get rid of the lag spikes and FPS drops. You’ll also see higher frame rates, assuming you’re using the right resolution and settings for your hardware setup. The mod accomplishes all of this by patching a variety of in-game files, giving most players 10-30% more FPS than they had before installing the mod.
Ceiling Lights Overhaul

Lighting plays a larger role than you initially think in a simulator like Paralives. With your default camera position, you need to be able to see well throughout a building, and the light brightness can be quite dim with regular ceiling fixtures. Luckily, the Ceiling Lights Overhaul mod lights up your houses and buildings to a whole other level. You’ll see every square inch of a room lit up rather than have dark spots littered in different spots.
ParaWASD

One of the most popular mods in the history of The Sims franchise is one that allows you to experience the game from a first-person POV. The same type of mod has been created for Paralives, allowing you to control your paras from the first-person while using WASD to control them. You can swap back and forth between the default and first-person camera, giving you total control over how you see the world.
Lockable Doors

Sometimes, you’ll randomly find paras that you don’t know in your house after you’ve left for a while. This is largely due to the fact that you can’t lock any doors, giving any random Joe on the street the opportunity to walk in and start using your house. Fortunately, you can start locking the door behind you with the Lockable Doors mod. You can customize which paras are allowed to lock or unlock a door or just lock a door completely so no one can get through.
InkAnywhere – Custom PNG Tattoos

There’s a basic tattoo system in Paralives, but you can’t use any kind of custom tattoo by default. Enter the InkAnywhere mod. You can now upload your own custom images and turn them into tattoos to place them anywhere on a para’s body. You have to upload PNG files to make them transparent, but the tattoos offer full color and mobility.
ParaBank

Paralives doesn’t feel like a true life simulator until you add a real way to manage money. The ParaBank mod, which is currently in early access, gives you a way to do that for all of your paras. The mod offers an in-game banking menu that lets you deposit/withdraw funds and track how much money a particular para has in their account. You can even move money between a checking and a savings account. The mod creator has specified they want to add more features in the future as well, such as credit cards, bills, and loans.
Free Camera

The Free Camera mod replaces the existing photo mode in Paralives and lets you take a first-person perspective of whatever you want in Melino. You can take the camera anywhere, control it using WASD, and then take pictures of anything you see. Basically, you can look at anything on the map at a given time, letting you see far beyond what you can normally view with your camera.
