This Riftbound Vendetta Champion Card Introduces A Decade-Old Champion To The TCG

July 9, 2026

When it comes to League of Legends’s robust champion roster, Riftbound: The League Of Legends Trading Card Game has a lot of ground to cover. Many of the MOBA’s notable names have appeared on a card included in Riftbound’s three sets, but with over 160 champions and counting to consider, the design team still have plenty of characters to parse through.

Today, we can exclusively reveal a new Champion unit card coming in Riftbound: Vendetta, the fourth Riftbound set due to release later this month. This champion has been part of the League Of Legends lore since 2015, and she’s appeared in other LoL spin-offs like 2XKO and The Ruined King.

Here’s Illaoi, Prophet Of The Great Kraken!

Illaoi, Prophet of the Great Kraken (Champion)

Colors: Chaos (Purple)

Cost: Six runes (no cycling needed)

Might: Four

Activated Ability: When you play me or when I score, play a 1 Might Tentacle unit token.

Passive Ability: I have +1 Might for each token unit you control.

Illaoi is interesting in that she’s a token-focused card in a color that, until now, hasn’t dabbled too much in token strategies. Viktor and Azir are the top Legends for token decks, but neither include the purple Chaos color; Viktor is Mind/Order (Blue/Yellow), while Azir is Calm/Order (Green/Yellow).

That’s not to say Illaoi can’t make an impact; both of the Chaos Legends revealed for the Vendetta set thus far, Zed and Kennen, can benefit from the tokens Illaoi can produce thanks to the new Empower mechanic, which gives cards access to an extra ability if they become “empowered” through specific conditions.

A Tentacle token getting banished to empower Zed is a small price to pay, especially since Illaoi can generate another, while Kennen can choose to power a Tentacle token up, use it to conquer a zone with Illaoi, and then make another Tentacle after she scores. Of course, by the time the entire set is revealed, there may be a Chaos Legend that does focus on tokens, so there may be more to come on Illaoi’s potential.

Illaol and her Tentacle tokens will debut when Riftbound: Vendetta launches July 31 in local game stores and big-box retailers.
