Apple and MLB announce August Friday Night Baseball schedule: key dates, how to watch

Apple TV is set to stream another month of baseball doubleheaders. The streaming service and Major League Baseball just unveiled the August schedule for Friday Night Baseball so you can start planning the rest of your summer viewing.

The August lineup is highlighted by two of baseball’s most iconic rivalries, the New York Yankees vs. the Boston Red Sox on Aug. 28 and breakout star Jordan Walker and the St. Louis Cardinals vs. three-time All-Star Alex Bregman and the Chicago Cubs in a matinee game on Aug. 14. And there’s more where that came from, including repeat appearances from some of the league’s top contenders this season.

Here’s a breakdown of the Friday Night Baseball schedule next month.

Apple TV will continue its weekly Friday night doubleheaders throughout the regular season. These broadcasts include live pre- and postgame shows with expert commentary and are free of local broadcast restrictions. In other words, anyone with an Apple TV subscription can tune in live. They’re also exclusive to Apple TV, meaning you can’t watch these games elsewhere.

How to watch Friday Night Baseball live

To access Friday Night Baseball through Apple TV, you’ll need an Apple TV subscription. And yes, that includes free trials. Subscriptions cost $12.99 per month after a free seven-day trial in most cases. There are also a few ways to save on a subscription, including a discounted rate through T-Mobile, bundling it with Peacock, or purchasing a new Apple device.
