Right now, during the preorder period for the Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra, AT&T is offering a huge discount on the phones when you trade in a phone and sign up for a new line of service. It appears that the company is offering elevated credit for some phones, with the carrier providing a list of eligible products that meet the requirements to receive the $1,900 credit.

If you have an Apple or Samsung phone from the past few years, you’re in luck. Just to clarify, the $1,900 in credits will be issued over 36 months. Those signing up for a line of service will need to get an AT&T Premium 2.0 plan or higher. AT&T is also offering $1,000 of credit with trade-in when purchasing the Z Flip 8.
The eligible trade-in devices for this promotion are a little more varied, and you can even go back a few more years to qualify. These promotions won’t last long, so you’ll want to grab these phones during the preorder process to get the best discounts.
You can try going through retailers directly, but pricing won’t be as good. Of course, the trade-off is going to be the contract you need to uphold with the carrier, which locks you in with AT&T for 36 months.
