I’ll start this off by saying I’m not judging you. We’ve all been there–so excited to get involved in what looks to be one of the best upcoming games this year that you just frantically hammer through the sign-up process. But when multiple members of the GameSpot team failed to read the small print and got stumped, I thought it might be best to remind you all that it’s there for a reason.
If you’re trying to sign up for The Duskbloods Closed Network Test but getting an error message, you might have forgotten one small detail. It’s right there in front of your eyes. Right there, admittedly in very small letters, a message reads, “‘You must agree to the use of “Country/Region’ information on the Nintendo Account linking page. Please note that you cannot link it if this box is unchecked.” You can find that information right beneath the Terms of Use.
When you click through to link your Nintendo account, use the dropdown arrow near your username and make sure the box is ticked where it mentions country and region information sharing. Without that, you’ll be stuck in an endless loop of error messages.
Similarly, make sure that the country and region you told From Software you were signing up from matches that of your Nintendo Switch 2 console. Otherwise, you guessed it, more error messages.
The sign-up period for The Duskbloods Closed Nework Test runs from July 22 at 7 AM PT through July 28 at 6:59 AM PT. It’s exclusive to Switch 2 console owners, and you’ll find out if you’ve been successful on August 7 at 6 AM PT. The sign-up slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
That test will take place during several time periods, similar to the Elden Ring: Nightreign tests that happened prior to the game’s release. Those times are:
- August 21: 3 AM – 7 AM PT
- August 21: 7 PM – 11 PM PT
- August 22: 11 AM – 3 PM PT
- August 23: 3 AM – 7 AM PT
- August 23: 7 PM – 11 PM PT
While The Duskbloods might be conducting network tests, there’s still no official release date as yet. We’ll update you with that information as soon as we have it.
