Kesha, the internet’s tooth fairy, wants your teeth

These days, Pokémon cards are harder to come by than human teeth, the latter being a longtime outré collectible of choice for pop star Kesha.

The Grammy-nominated artist has been collecting fans’ teeth via X since 2011 (when it was Twitter), per Complex. And on Wednesday, Kesha renewed her collection’s crowdsourcing mode, hitting X with a casual PO box for fans to send over their personal pegs.

Kesha’s love for collecting human incisors, canines, and molars started back in 2011, when her album Animal was topping every chart and a fan sent her a tooth (on Kesha’s request) that the pop star made into a necklace — a moment that became a legendary Twitter post.

Las Culturistas podcast hosts Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang asked Kesha about the lore around her tooth fairy collection during the latest episode (it came up when they were talking about narwhals).

“Do you know that I collect teeth?” she said. “Send ’em over.”

“The teeth started when I became obsessed with my fans,” Kesha added. “Someone was like, ‘My child lost their teeth.’ And I was like, ‘Can I have them? I want to make jewellery out of it.’ So then I made a necklace, an earring, and then a belt, and then a crown. The crown’s wild.”

Kesha told Yang and Rogers she just “started putting [teeth] all over my home,” where they’re held “in little jars.”

“I just started collecting them because it kind of freaks out straight men,” she said.

There’s honestly no better way to say it than Rogers and Yang chanting in unison: “She’s a pop star and she needs your teeth.” You’ve got the PO box address.
