Beast Of Reincarnation Difficulty Options – How To Change Difficulty

Beast of Reincarnation is the new action-RPG from Pokemon developer Game Freak, and offers a very different experience from the creature-collecting bliss you’re used to. It has three difficulty options, with each being designed so that a wider variety of players can enjoy it, unlike a typical Soulslike game.

Story Mode is best for those who want to play through the narrative without finding combat too challenging. Parry timing is more forgiving, and enemies deal less damage. You’ll still need to engage with the combat, but you’ll be punished far less for any mistakes you make. If you’re playing this for the Game Freak name rather than a passion for a challenging RPG, opt for Story Mode.

Normal Mode is the intended experience, with balanced challenges and normal parry timing. It’s intended to encourage you to learn enemy attack patterns, rely on Koo and his abilities, and experiment with your build to find the optimal combinations.

Hard Mode is for those Soulslike fanatics who want a serious challenge. The parry window is alarmingly tight, and you’ll be punished for any mistakes you make. If you’ve mastered the combat system and want to experience the game’s full brutality, this is the option for oyu.

However, director Kota Furushima has explained that the game’s challenge isn’t just determined by the difficulty you play on. By tinkering with Emma and Koo’s skill trees, Spirit Stones that modify combat, and different builds, you can find the game easier or harder as you progress through it.

When you’re playing, you’ll notice that when selecting Koo’s Blooming Arts, time slows down to give you the option to think about your approach instead of button mashing and hoping for the best. Make sure to read the skill trees too, as there are many different button combinations for different attacks, and if you’re not reading those, you won’t be using Emma or Koo to their full potential.

Change difficulty in the menu during your playthrough.

Can you change difficulty in Beast of Reincarnation?

The good news is that yes, you can change difficulty after starting your playthrough of Beast of Reincarnation. This also means that the difficulty option you choose doesn’t affect the rewards that you get as you progress. You can choose the option best for you without losing any potentially larger rewards for playing on harder difficulties.

Note that you cannot change the difficulty from the menu unless you have an active session open–so you won’t be able to adjust it from the main menu before continuing your game.
