Tech prices are on the rise, not that we need to say that out loud anymore. In June, Apple raised prices and now we have to figure out how to navigate life with more expensive MacBooks and iPads (sigh). In a rare move, Amazon is offering us some relief today. Check out these sale prices.

As of Aug. 6, the 13-inch M5 MacBook Air (16GB/512GB) is on sale for $1,134 at Amazon, down from the normal price of $1,299. The 13-inch M5 MacBook Air (16GB/1TB) is on sale for $1,419, down from the normal price of $1,599. In total, you’ll save $180 with the 1TB model or $165 with the 512GB model.

As much as we hate to see price hikes, we’ve come to rely on the tech so much that we’re simply paying the new price. But thanks to these Amazon MacBook deals, we’re getting a break. The timing couldn’t be better as we’re looking straight at back-to-school season.

Mashable Tech Editor Timothy Beck Werth’s review of the 2026 M5 MacBook Air praises its premium design, speakers, display, and the upgrade to the M5 chip. On top of those highlights, the MacBook Air is incredibly travel-friendly, weighing just 2.7 pounds and measuring 0.44 inches thick.

If you’re considering the upgrade but were turned off by the price hike earlier this summer, hop on this deal to save up to $180 on the M5 MacBook Air. Since we haven’t seen sales this good since the price increase, it’s probably wise to shop sooner rather than put it off.
